Intra-operative Navigation ('O-ARM')

Intra-operative CT imaging and computer navigated surgery (‘O-ARM’) is heralded by many as the latest major advance in spinal surgery. Real time CT like images taken during surgery can be used to direct (‘navigate’) instruments to ensure optimal and safe positioning of spinal implants and allowing many procedures to be performed through smaller incisions ('minimally invasive'). This technology is available at both Burwood and St Georges Hospital’s.
